Lead Endocrinologist & Diabetes Specialist | Associate Professor of Medicine

Dr. Priyanka Shah is a clinically focused endocrinologist with deep experience in outpatient and hospital-based diabetes and endocrine care. She combines strong academic training, a long history of hands-on patient management in high-volume settings, active involvement in clinical research and leadership roles in public-health programs - all delivered with an emphasis on clear patient education and complication prevention.

Academic distinctions & qualifications: Gold-medalist in biochemistry and medicine, university topper throughout MBBS at Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research, MD (General Medicine) from Government Medical College - Surat, MRCP (Endocrinology) from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (UK).
Teaching & clinical leadership: Worked as Assistant Professor in Civil for 5 years and is presently an Associate Professor responsible for managing a daily OPD of ~600 patients, manages a specialised endocrine & diabetes OPD at the NCHS Civil hospital.
Hospital & research collaborations: Served as an associate to Dr. Shashank Joshi at Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre and collaborates as a research associate on multiple clinical studies, author of the chapter "Hyperglycemic Emergencies and Immunisation in Diabetes" in the RSSDI textbook of diabetes, Member of professional societies including Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) and the AACE chapter.
Public health & awards: Speaker at district, national and international conferences, awarded by SGCCI and Bharatiya Jan Sansthan for exemplary service during COVID, served as Nodal Officer for the National Viral Hepatitis Control Program (GMCS Surat) and has extensive experience managing large numbers of COVID patients and seasonal epidemics (leptospirosis, swine flu, COVID)
Research work (selected studies listed): Papers on gestational diabetes prevalence and risk factors, carvedilol in type I diabetes, and the impact of diabetes-specific nutrition in obese type II diabetes subjects - reflecting active clinical research interests.
